According to the Panchang, Ekadashi falls on the eleventh day of both the Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha every month. There are 24 Ekadashis in a year, which are dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On the auspicious day of Ekadashi, worshipping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi is considered extremely auspicious and is believed to bring victory and success in life. On every Ekadashi, plucking Tulsi leaves and watering it is not considered auspicious. It is said that Tuli is the dearest devotee of Lord Krishna and is also known as the form of Goddess Lakshmi. Tulsi also observed a nirjala fast for Lord Vishnu on this day.
On the day of Papmochani Ekadashi, it is advised to worship Lord Vishnu with devotion and dedication. One should avoid using any abusive language, as it is counted as a sin, so it is better to avoid such language on this day and on other days as well.
Devotees who observe the Ekadashi fast should consume only fruits, and those who are not fasting should also have Satvik food on this day. Tamasik food, such as meat, alcohol, garlic, and onions, should be prohibited on this day.
In Hindu Dharm, worshipping on the day of Ekadashi is considered extremely auspicious and beneficial. While performing rituals correctly is essential, on the other hand, it is also necessary to choose the correct direction for worship. The best direction for worshipping is the northeast direction, and one should avoid worshipping facing the south direction, as it could be harmful.
