Then an old Brahmin came and stopped him from committing suicide and took him to a cave and made him see the four-armed Anant Dev. Now for atonement, you should observe an infinite fast for fourteen years continuously. Kaundinya Muni strictly followed the eternal fast for fourteen years. After this, happiness returned to his life, and the lost property was recovered.
