Kabirdas Jayanti will be celebrated on June 24, 2021. Kabir Das was born on the day of Jyeshtha Purnima that is why on that day, his birth anniversary is celebrated every year. Kabirdas was the wonderful & the main poet of the Bhakti period. Kabir das was the originator of the poetry line of the Gyanashrayi-Nirgun branch. He devoted his whole life to destroying the evils from society. His compositions are still recited in the form of couplets. Kabir Das was born in Kashi in 1398 & died in Maghar, 1518.

Kabir das, in his whole life, used to oppose hypocrisy, superstition, and person’s worship. He used to teach the lesson of unity to the people through his compositions. Even today also, the voice of Kabirdas is like a nectar, which gives new life to the person. If one will listen to the popular couplets of Sant Kabir then it will take you out of the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge.

Saint Kabirdas tried to establish love, harmony, and unity among the people throughout his entire life. Kabir das tried to break the illusions of the people not only by his nectar speech & by setting an example of himself. The Kabir Panth sect was also established in his name, Dharmadas also collected his speeches in a book named "Bijak", which has three main parts - Sakhi, Sabad (Pad), Ramani.

Kabirdas also set a great example to destroy the misconceptions prevailing in society about heaven and hell. Saint Kabir Das, who spent his whole life in Kashi, chose a place for his last few days, there were superstitions in those days, that dying there leads to hell. Kabirdas went to Maghar which was near Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh during his last time to destroy the illusion of the people and he died there.

When saint Kabirdas died there in Maghar, there was a going on between his Hindu and Muslim devotees regarding the last rites of his dead body. It is said that at that time when the sheet was removed from his dead body, people only found a pile of flowers there. After that Hindus performed the last rites as per their customs and Muslims as per their tradition with the half flower.
