 This thing is about 400 years old.  It is said that four hundred years ago there was a cruel king of the Mlechha dynasty in this region.  Due to his terror, there was an outcry among the people of the entire area.  The king used to withhold the doli of newly married women and abused them.  Due to his terror, the life of the people had become difficult.  To protect the troubled daughters, mother Patmeshwari dressed as a bride and sat in a doli and reached close to that king's palace.  Mother Patmeshwari, who was sitting in a doli in the guise of a bride, was stopped by that evil spirit as a newly married woman.  Wanted to misbehave with the mother, but the mother killed that cruel king in the guise of a bride.  After this the mother rested at a place where the temple is built today.

 After the permission of the mother, the grand temple was built in the middle of the forest outside the village of Mehnoun, at the  place of the mother in the form of Pindi, in the first night.

Earlier no one was allowed to rest at night at this place of the sitting mother.  No house or construction of any kind was allowed here.  For hundreds of years, the mother lived here in the form of Pindi under the open sky.  But as the population increased, the mother was prayed for the construction of the temple.  People worshiped and requested the mother to settle at this place and after accepting the request of the devotees, she got seated in the form of Pindi.  Since then till date this place has remained the center of faith of lakhs of devotees.

 All Manglik work is done only by the permission of the mother. People's faith towards the mother is such that even today no Manglik program in the entire region is complete without the blessings of the mother.  Even today, when the bride leaves after getting married here, she first reaches the temple and seeks the blessings of the mother.  The doli moves forward only after circumambulating here.  Apart from this, Mundan, Bhagwat Katha and Brahmbhoja programs are organized in the temple throughout the year.
