According to mythological beliefs, on this day in Punavasu Nakshatra and Cancer Lagna, Lord Shree Rama (Lord Ram), the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born in King Dasharatha's house in Ayodhya. This year, the festival of Ram Navami is on Wednesday, 21 April. The festival of Ram Navami is celebrated with pomp across the country and Lord Rama is also worshiped on this day.

Mythological beliefs related to Ramnavmi:
According to mythology, the entire public was plagued by the tyranny of Ravana, the king of Lanka, even the deity because Ravana had taken the boon of immortality from Brahma ji. In order to punish Ravana for his actions, Lord Vishnu decided to take birth as Lord Shri Ram. Here, King Dasaratha had three wives but not one child. Then King Dasharatha performed a sonishti yajna and fed the kheer found in the prasad to the three queens. After some time, on the Navami date of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, Rani Kaushalya gave birth to Rama, Kaikeyi gave birth to Bharata and Sumitra gave birth to Lakshmana and Shatrughna.
