Every year, Mohini Ekadashi is celebrated during the Shukla Paksha of the Vaishakh month, which is considered significant for Vaishnav devotees. On this auspicious day, observing a fast is considered highly fruitful for receiving the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu. As per the scripture, on this day, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini during the time of Amrit Manthan to protect the amrit from Asuras, which is why this fast is named Mohini Ekadashi. Worshipping, observing fasts, and offering prayers with devotion are believed to remove obstacles, free one from all sins, and bring good fortune. On this day, doing the act of charity helps reduce obstacles in your life.
This year, there is confusion about the exact date of Mohini Ekadashi, whether it will be celebrated on 27 April or 28 April. This year, the Ekadashi Tithi will begin at 06:06 PM on 26th April and will end at 06:15 PM on 27th April 2026.
