Why are machines not used on Vishwakarma Puja?

• On Vishwakarma Puja, machines, vehicles, and tools are not used in factories, workshops, and homes. Machines and tools that contribute to our lives and progress are considered forms of God. On this day, we express our gratitude by giving them a rest.
• According to scriptures, continuous work affects the efficiency of machines. On this day, machines are given a rest and cleaned, greased, and worshipped so that they function properly throughout the year without any problems.
• It is believed that using machines on this day disrespects Lord Vishwakarma, which may lead to work interruptions and financial losses.

Vishwakarma Puja Ritual

• On this day, wake up early and clean your shop, factory, vehicles, and machines.
• Install an idol of Lord Vishwakarma at the puja area. Place your main tools or machines nearby.
• Sprinkle Gangajal on Lord Vishwakarma and all the tools. After this, apply a tilak, turmeric, rice grains, and sandalwood.
• Offer flowers, fruits, sweets, and panchamrit to the Lord.
• Tie a sacred thread on the machines.
• Chant the mantra “Om Adhar Shaktaye Namah” or “Om Vishwakarmane Namah."
• In the end, sing aarti by lighting incense sticks and diyas and distribute prasad among everyone.
